Merari Arrendondo earned an Associate’s degree in the Mexican American Studies Program at South Texas College in May 2011 and is continuing her education at UTPA for a bachelor’s degree. The history she learned at STC is essential when dealing with undocumented individuals for her internship at LUPE, La Unión del Pueblo Entero.

“Trying and learning new things is something I enjoy,” said South Texas College alum Emmanuel Salinas. “That’s why technology is a good fit for me because it’s constantly changing and you are always learning something new. That’s what piqued my interest in working in the field to begin with.” Salinas recently earned his associate’s degree in information security from STC. And he uses the skills he learned at the college every day in his job as a computer support specialist at Security First Credit Union.
