As a student from the technology campus, and as an electrician student,I am interested in energy conservation. There are numerous ways to save energy. Insulation serves as a great resistor to current flow. There are many ways of insulating a house or other building from the effects of global warming. For example, covering all the cracks to minimise transfer of heat. Do not overcrowd cables due to the fact that overcrowded cables can cause heating. Another very imporatant action that one can take to save energy is to put sun-screens in the windows, especially those facing West, to reduce the amount of radiant energy entering the house. This prevents the ac unit from running all the time and working as a continous load and a drain on the budjet. Furthermore, when homeowners use less energy to heat or cool their houses, the electrical company can burn less fossil fuels to meet the needsof the community, and that is good for the ozone layer. The list could go on, but the point is that it is possible to save energy and live better at the same time.
